FOC Sentosa is a Mediterranean Restaurant and Beach Club inspired by Barcelona’s world-famous beach culture opened back in November 2016.
In line with the island’s cheery atmosphere, FOC Sentosa transforms from a relaxing morning hangout to an idyllic Mediterranean lunch spot and, come night time, a vibrant gastronomic getaway. Combining tapas, Paellas, large-format grilled meats and seafood, summery drinks and a sophisticated yet laid-back atmosphere, the striking two-storey locale is the epitome of stylish beachside living.
Located at the east end of tranquil Palawan Beach, the tasteful and airy beachfront space is resplendent with bright interiors and panoramic views of the sea from the second-storey private events space, which can be reserved and transformed to accommodate intimate beach weddings, private parties or corporate events.
Seamlessly transitioning between indoor and outdoor spaces, the restaurant and bar features different seating configurations to cater to various experiences—from beach sunbeds and a spacious pool deck to a breezy alfresco terrace and an indoor bar and restaurant to escape the heat.
Accessibly situated next to Tanjong Beach Walk’s taxi stand, the two-winged structure was conceived to blend into Sentosa’s verdant foliage. Designed by lauded Barcelona-based design firm, Lagranja, FOC Sentosa integrates the outdoors and indoors with its use of airy floor-to-ceiling windows and light structure.
“The aim from the very beginning was always to look and feel like you are outdoors.We were inspired by the traditional and triangular ‘Chiringuito’ beach huts in Barcelona,” says Gabriele Schiavon, the co-founder of La Granja. “It was important to preserve the trees and maintain a sense of transparency throughout the space, all while remaining sophisticated yet friendly.”
The graphic design that can be seen around FOC Sentosa, all the colourful figures depicting different aspects of beach life, was executed by a famous Barcelona designer, Javier Mariscal. Estudio Mariscal takes care of creative design and branding for diverse global companies, transmitting the authentic value and the essence of the brand.
The two-story FOC Sentosa structure holds two ample event halls upstairs, reserved for private functions. Located above the main restaurant and bar, the dedicated space has uninterrupted wall-to-wall views of the South China Sea. With its own separate bar and kitchen, the upper floor features two versatile private spaces, Mar Bella and La Barceloneta, ideal for your events, both private and corporate. The breath-taking view and tranquil coastal ambience will suit any special occasion, be it a birthday, anniversary, wedding celebration or corporate events and launches.
FOC Sentosa event space is flexible, ranging from one hall rental to full buy-out. Having organized hundreds of events already, our Events team will find the best solution for any type of event that you might need to organize. A distinctive catering style, designed and guided by Chef Nandu Jubany encourages an interactive and fun style of dining that include live Jamón carving, live cooking stations with huge Paellas, Tapas and BBQ items prepared a la minute as well as creative snacks Pass Around.
Food & Drinks
The thoughtfully prepared cuisine focuses on contemporary Mediterranean dishes well-suited to Singapore’s tropical climate. Conceptualised by celebrated Chef Nandu Jubany, Alma Mater of FOC Group, the food delivers an authentic experience that captures the flavours found in Barcelona’s grill- and barbeque-centric culinary culture, with an emphasis on hearty plates perfect for communal dining.
The extensive sharing menu spans from cold to hot tapas, as well as Spanish rice and grilled items. Start the meal with a reimagining classic pasta dish, the King Crab Cannelloni gets a fresh Mediterranean twist. Finely chopped Alaska king crab meat encased in delicate zucchini ribbons and topped with a zingy layering of Sriracha and Sriracha mayo. Other sharing plates in the form of hot tapas include the addictive Chicken Wings Sandwich, a sinfully delightful mix of buttery brioche buns with triple-cooked deboned chicken wings, in a process that takes nearly two hours. The fried wings are then smothered with avocado sauce, lending the sandwich a smooth and luscious mouth-feel. You definitely tried Fish & Chips in many places around the world, but FOC Fish & Chips, will definitely surprise you with its crunchy chips ‘Patatas Bravas’, intense ‘Alioli’ and tender Seabass melting in your mouth with its light golden batter.
For larger sharing dishes, opt for the unique Scampi and Chicken Caldoso Rice. Cooked over a low fire on an enamel cast iron pan, a combination of different elements, expect an explosion of flavours and textures. A perennial favourite, paellas come in myriad forms, including a meaty and little-known Iberian Pork Paella, as well as the distinctive Senyoret Paella, a Valencian staple that comes with a plethora of shelled crustaceans and chunks of fish.
The restaurant also specialises in large-format grilled meats and whole fish, capturing the cheerful spirit of a Mediterranean summer, including a toothsome USA Rib Eye and perfectly charred Atlantic Turbot. For something more indulgent, there are options like a one-kilo USA OP Rib Steak. To pair, are plates ‘From the Farmer’ comprising Cauliflower with Pickles and Manchego and a Kale with Garlic Sauce and Paprika Oil.
On a lazy beach day, go for the Beach Party platters, perfect fuss-free choice for all those who just want lay back and relax. The platters feature all the toothsome Mediterranean Tapas that you could ask for. Barcelona Beach Party Platter, is ideal for a quick and easy meal comprised of 6 different Tapas and Ibiza, with a more generous selection of 8 Tapas, ending with a juicy USA Rib Eye, ‘365 days grain-fed’.
The exquisite desserts selection at FOC Sentosa is not to be missed. Elaborating on everyone’s childhood fantasy, FOC Chefs created Oreo XXL Cookie and giant FOC Ferrero – guaranteed, no one will feel bad sharing them anymore. Another best seller on the list is Yin Yang Cracker, inspired by the Catalan biscuit and similar to Chinese love letter, filled with rich and creamy ‘Crema Catalana’. As a special addition to the dessert selections, the restaurant also produces a variety of Home-Made Ice Cream in a cone, ranging from sweet to refreshing and fruity.
The bar program at FOC Sentosa has also been tailor-made to combine the best of the Barcelonan drinks culture with an Asian flourish. The extensive beverage selection is populated with summery cocktails, twists on classic libations and a unique range of Spanish and European wines. Each drink was customized to suit Singapore’s sunny climate, while retaining an unmistakable Spanish flair. For those looking to indulge in wines, the menu comprises a varied selection of Spanish and international bottlings that include Champagnes, Cavas and wines.
Beat the heat with easy cocktails like the Dirty Little Piña Colada: fresh frozen pineapple filled with sunny rum, pineapple and coconut or the subtly potent Never Ending Summer—a heady mix of vodka, strawberry, watermelon with hints of lemon juice. The bar programme also features classic libations with a modern twist like Jack Sparrow’s Mojito, a refreshing mix of two rums, sour-sweet passionfruit and fresh mint.
Perfect for big groups are sharing cocktails that can be adjusted from a single serve to accommodate up to 7 guests. While away the afternoon with an indulgent Sangria & Bubbles full of bubbly Cava refreshing tropical fruits, or the signature FOC Red Sangria—a perennial classic that combines wine with fruits and stronger spirits. Spanish Gin & Tonic Culture, being one of the anchors of the Spanish drinking culture, is definitely a must-have. All G&Ts are served in a balloon glass (generous gentleman’s pour) with a selection of special garnishes and tonic waters.
